It is not only a refreshing feeling, but it is a refreshing sound when you hear the name Hoodie Allen. The clean-cut college graduate’s albums and EPS have graced the charts numerous times including 2012’s All American which debuted at #1 on iTunes in the US & Canada as well as #10 overall on Billboard Top 200. In February of 2013, he released his most recent mix tape, Crew Cuts, which was downloaded off of his website more than 200,000 times. Never one to keep his fans waiting too long, Hoodie has been intensely preparing for his debut full length set to drop sometime this fall, but not before releasing a brand new acoustic EP entitled Americoustic that is set for release on August 13th.

Born Steven Markowitz and raised on Long Island, Hoodie was frat-rap from the beginning, having met producer RJF during an Alpha Epsilon Pi-hosted party at the University of Pennsylvania. The two would release the street albums Bagels & Beats and Making Waves and win MTV’s Best Music on Campus award in 2009, but his hit came with the 2010 track “You Are Not a Robot,” which sampled Marina and the Diamonds’ hit, “I Am Not a Robot” and landed on his popular mixtape, Pep Rally. A headlining tour across the States followed before Hoodie made his official debut with the All American EP in 2012. Released on his own label, the EP features smash single, “No Iterruption,” which currently has over 10 million views on YouTube.
